1. Are you a 501(c)3?
    Before you apply for funding, be sure that you have a 501(c)3 to prove your organization's not-for-profit status. Click below for more information on 501(c)3s and tax information for charitable organizations.

  2. Have your documents in order. You must identify your program goals in writing whenever applying for funding. Be sure that your goals are very clear. Writing resources can be found in our Resources section.

  3. Begin researching the donation / funding opportunities in your community. Most funders are very specific about the types of programs they fund. Be sure you are contacting the right groups to save both you and the funders time and effort.
